Dame Jenni Murray OBE tours the theatre and festival circuit with a fascinating talk about her life in broadcasting. For more than 25 years she has been a leading presenter on BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour. Born in Barnsley, Yorkshire, in 1950, she practically grew up with the programme.
It was first broadcast when she was just four years old and she remembers sitting listening with her mother and being sent off to the kitchen on spurious errands whenever an item carried a 'health warning’. Woman’s Hour has never been afraid to tackle controversial issues and was the first radio programme to discuss subjects like the menopause, homosexuality and cohabitation. Jenni talks with eloquence and knowledge about the changing face of broadcasting and is always a hit whether playing a one-off theatre date or appearing as part of a festival bill.
Jenni is also available for corporate, conference and after-dinner speaking engagements.
